The Trip Home

We made the long trip home on Friday. We left Masterson at 8:30 am and began the journey home. After a little detour in Lubbock, we arrived in Abilene around 2:30 pm. We stopped at CiCi's for lunch and then headed towards Cisco. The vans pulled into the church parking lot around 4:00 pm. What a week!!

The Old People Still Have Something in the Tank!!

On Thursday, the senior high basketball winners took on the "old people"...these old people would include the counselors from several different churches. To the dismay of the younger generation, the older generation still had something left...beating them by 10 points. Needless to say, this "old" preacher was the oldest on the court and barely survived. We all had a great time!

I Preached Wednesday Night!!

I was asked to preach at CAMP on Wednesday night. The sermon was titled "Looney Tunes are NOT so Looney"....Characters inside my sermon included Daffy Duck, Tweety Bird, Bugs Bunny, Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote, Yosemite Sam, Elmer Fudd, Porky Pig and Marvin the Martian. Each tune has a particular "phrase" or character trait. It was fun to preach and I received good comments from the kids concerning the understanding of the spiritual points applied to each toon.
